MICHAEL MARTON

cameraman/documentarist

   

Michael Marton, cameraman and documentarist was born in Berlin, Germany, and immigrated in 1970 to the United States.  He has had his documentaries broadcast on PBS, German, Swedish, Irish, Danish, Swiss and Finnish television.  His programs have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Israel. He has received numerous Arts and Humanities Grants, among them the coveted John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship.  He has also won the Jury Award at the United States Film and Video Festival in Park City, Utah; the Blue Ribbon Award at the American Film and Video Festival in New York and the Golden Ring and Jury Award at the Golden Ring International Competition in Lausanne, Switzerland.  For his camera work he has received several Telly Awards and a Golden Eagle Award.


For the last 20 years he has been working in the Washington, DC area.
